Hi guys, I have just got a brand new iMac, to replace my MacBook, in which I used to run phenix. I have installed phenix in the new iMac, and copied the directory with all the files of my previous runs. However, what should I migrate to have the projects and previous work recognized by the fresh install? Did the file paths change, or are they identical to the old system? If the latter, then all you need to do is copy the directory ~/.phenix from the laptop to the iMac, and it should be happy. If you did move directories around, you need to import the project directories into a new database. To do this, select "Import project" from the "File" menu, and pick a project directory - do this for each one. It will rewrite *some* paths to reflect the move, but is a little inconsistent at the moment - this will be addressed very soon (along with moving project directories on the same computer). I would recommend upgrading to the newest nightly build, since I've forgotten when exactly some of these features were added. -Nat
hi Nat, thanks for the reply. The paths changed, and indeed the gui complains that it can't find files, but overall the 'import' procedure worked nicely and I can go on with the work on the same project. Thanks a lot. ciao, s On Mar 30, 2011, at 10:18 PM, Nathaniel Echols wrote:
